On my way back home, I drove past Barakhamba Road at 6:30 pm on September 13th, when I reached Regal cinema I heard a loud thud and I simply drove ahead wondering what all it could be, as soon as I reached Karol Bagh which is where I live, I realized that something major has gone wrong and I parked my bike and trekked home wondering whom should I call to check out the details of the accident.
During my walk back home I received first of those calls, “are you all right?” I asked “why?” my friend replied “a bomb just went off meters from your house” and that’s when everything fell into place.
The whole incident and my close rescue from the spot of terror triggered a series of thoughts in my mind, “Can this kind of an activity confronted?” “Can the cops play superman and be everywhere?” and I realized that no, it is not possible for a city as big and diverse as Delhi could be under surveillance 24/7. The next question was “Then how do we stop such an activity from going off?” I heard a news reader say that we should follow USA’s footpaths and start bombing around, after all there has been no attack there ever since 9/11. But fighting terror with terror seemed futile to me.
After a strenuous research and contemplation on after all how can we protect our society from going off? My eye stopped at my personal computer, the viruses in our computer are nothing but a part of our systems which are malfunctioned to cause chaos. And we plug in antivirus softwares which identify the viruses and cure them if possible. We need something like that to be initiated, it is not a short term process it might take years together but the wheel has to be set rolling otherwise the next generation will get so used to terror that it will become a way of life for them. The leaders of the society have to open their minds and understand the cause of such activities, even the terrorists are a part of humanity who have taken a path completely different from the common path of a society. This alternate path has to be demolished by the pure strength of reason. As for now, I beg the city to not to bow their heads in front of an act as cowardice in nature as this one.

But, yes you are right we need to get to the cause rather than try taking measures to counter it once it has already happened.
