India: Divided through the heart

India is proudly the biggest democracy in the world, with 1,132,446,000 people sharing the same domain and striving to pull through their regular routines. It’s been over 60 years for India to be labeled a free nation with its own sovereign government. But what is the real picture beyond all these numbers?

India is named as a developing nation with an increasing GDP and higher standard of living, but it is time that the people of India question the reach of this development. The phenomenon of the rich trying to be richer and the poor striving to buy a basket of food is not development, it is an illusion created by the companies which are sucking profits out of the heart of this nation.

A company does not consist of a person or a group of people, in fact it is a beautifully carved concept which concentrates only on profits and everything rest is a by-product just like the East India Company. And it overpowers all humans, until humans earn money to live and not live to earn money.

Today, the subcontinent is split wide open from the centre, one part is imitating the west and trying to come up to their standards while the other half is striving to hold on to their very existence. It is important for the first half to understand that they cannot hold the burden of India just on their shoulders in fact if they want to grow then it has to be from the grass root level or this development will fall flat on their heads in due time.
